Undergraduate Program -- Urban and Public Policy Concentration

NeighborhoodThe Urban and Public Policy undergraduate major (14 courses) examines issues such as planning, transportation, housing, land use, urban redevelopment, income distribution, etc from several disciplinary bases.

It includes prerequisites of...
SOC 101 “Introduction to Sociology”,
PSC 101 “Introduction to American Politics”,
courses on social problems,
economics and economic geography,

as well as...
a core of urban policy,
public policy and public administration courses,
statistics and
research methods

and...
advanced courses on public policy from the departments of Geography, Planning and Design, Sociology, and Political Science.

This major is for those interested in urban life and problems, social problems, urban planning, and public administration.

Double majors and minors with other departments are encouraged.
